The stopchildabuse website is part of the "Child Abuse Hurts Us All" Campaign developed by the Australian Childhood Foundation and the National Research Centre for the Prevention of Child Abuse at Monash University.
It is a new multimodal awareness and education initiative which aims to deepen the commitment by the community to the prevention of child abuse and the protection of children from harm associated with abuse and family violence.
The Tasmanian Government has provided initial seed funding for the campaign. It will be implemented in Tasmania throughout 2004- 2005. It will also establish the impetus for a future national roll out.
The campaign tries to encourage all community members to be better informed about child abuse. It also gives simple and practical steps for individuals, families and organisations to follow in order to create and maintain safe and nurturing relationships for children.
